DESCRIPTION: Sunderland Juvenile Service is recruiting two part-time
Home Visitors.
- As part of the multi-agency Sunderland Prevention Strategy we are a small local charity that aims to reduce youth offending and prevent re-offending by offering information, guidance and support.
- The project encourages young people to take part in constructive learning, training, and leisure pursuits in the hope of diverting them from antisocial or criminal behaviour and to encourage them to adopt a more positive attitude.
- Young people using the service will have offended, been identified as being at risk of offending or have displayed antisocial behaviour.
- We arrange a series of home visits to young people who have been referred to us, working not only with the young person but also with their family. We focus on early intervention and are the only project in the City that works at the reprimand stage of the youth offending process.
- This is an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in developing their youth work skills, especially those with an interest in the prevention of youth offending.
- Evening and occasional weekend work is required. Own transport is desirable. Successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB Disclosure (Police check).
