Hug in a bag Help Understanding and Glamour
A new not for profit organisation in the City of Sunderland
Hug in a Bag is a new not-for-profit organisation in the City of Sunderland
(Help Understanding and Glamour)
Hug in a Bag is a new organisation formed by three women who
met, laughed, cried and supported each other during their treatment for breast cancer.
Each of the three coped in their own way but found that sharing their thoughts, anxieties and concerns was extremely helpful. They also gave each other lots of hugs in times of fear, sadness, pain and joy!
Their aim is to give one more hug
in the form of a bag containing gifts,
information leaflets and discount vouchers, to every woman diagnosed with
breast cancer in Sunderland Royal Hospital (between 160 and 200 each year).
They know from their own experiences that women can
feel very alone and vulnerable at this time and they wanted
to show their understanding and support.
Many people have given their support (practical, financial and emotional) to this new venture and have enthusiastically welcomed the idea!
